What happens when a home-based business with big dreams finds the right guidance? For DK Designs, the answer has been remarkable growth. Founded by Drew and Kim Winters, the Forsyth-based lifestyle and gift brand creates decorative door hangers and home décor in their retail store, and through retailers across the country.
As demand grew, DK Designs turned to the UGA Small Business Development Center (UGA SBDC) in Macon for help navigating the next stage of growth. Working with business consultant Peter Williams, the company explored financing options for manufacturing equipment, evaluated opportunities for a larger facility, and developed strategies to expand into wholesale markets.
Today, DK Designs products can be found in approximately 1,000 stores nationwide, and the company continues to expand its product offerings and create jobs in its community.
