Mary Kate Wheeler is the program assistant for the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (UGA SBDC) Rome office. She serves as the initial point of contact for clients, partners, and community stakeholders, helping entrepreneurs access consulting, training, and strategic resources to strengthen and grow their businesses. In her role, she supports program coordination, client intake, event management, sponsorship engagement and the daily operational functions that keep the center running efficiently.
Mary Kate holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of West Georgia. Her academic background includes organizational leadership, entrepreneurship, operations and supply chain management, and strategic planning. She brings this knowledge into her work by helping create meaningful connections between local businesses, educational institutions, and community partners.
With a passion for collaboration, community engagement, and continuous learning, Mary Kate is committed to supporting the growth of Northwest Georgia’s small business ecosystem. She enjoys empowering entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey and takes pride in helping build programs that inspire innovation, connection, and long-term success.
