For more than two decades, Winton Machine Company has built innovative factory automation solutions for manufacturers around the world. Based in Suwanee, Georgia, the company was founded by co-owners Lisa and George Winton, who launched the business in the basement of their home and steadily grew it into a global exporter serving customers in more than 17 countries.
Specializing in high-performance, software-driven equipment that fabricates tubular components, Winton Machine now offers more than 100 machine models for advanced manufacturing applications. Along the way, the company has navigated key moments of growth—including its first international contract—with support from the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (UGA SBDC).
From securing financing to expanding into global markets, the UGA SBDC has played a consistent role in helping the company scale operations and strengthen strategy, positioning Winton Machine as a leader in automation and a proud contributor to Georgia’s manufacturing economy.
"When we first got started and manufacturing was not popular, I had to work with the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center to help me find a bank willing to invest in Winton Machine. Now it's a totally different story. Building automation that helps other manufacturers build their products and help solve workforce issues is a really exciting place to be."
