After becoming a dynamic and visionary business consultant, Rebecca now serves as Area Director for the UGA SBDC Augusta office. Since joining in 2014 as a Program Coordinator, she has advanced into leadership while building extensive experience across strategy, marketing, human resources, and staff development. Rebecca partners with both aspiring and established entrepreneurs to assess opportunities, guide strategic planning, and support sustainable growth. With a strong background in business, retail, and education, she delivers practical insights and actionable strategies that empower clients to achieve long-term success.

Shelby Carl, Program Coordinator II

Shelby Carl

Shelby Carl is the Program Coordinator for UGA SBDC in Augusta, and she is new to the team. Her role with the SBDC involves connecting small business owners with business consultants in the Augusta office. She also helps coordinate and facilitate CE programs. After getting two BA's, she spent a year in AmeriCorps. She went on to gain an MBA in Internet Marketing and opened her own online marketing business. The variety of projects she took on included commercials, billboards, traditional advertising, PPC marketing, social media marketing, SEM, email marketing and other forms of digital marketing. 

The UGA Small Business Development Center is a Public Service and Outreach unit of the University of Georgia. This program is funded through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration and is supported by federal taxpayer funds.
