Rebecca Smith joined the UGA SBDC as a Business Advisor in October 2024, serving the Athens and Augusta offices. She has been a licensed CPA since 2014 and has over 10 years of experience working with entrepreneurs and business owners. Rebecca was also the COO of a family-owned residential mortgage company, providing her with a background in lending as well as accounting.
Prior to joining the SBDC, Rebecca maintained her own tax practice in Walton County, Georgia and before that, she worked in public accounting. During her time in public accounting, Rebecca focused primarily on S-Corporations, Partnerships, and Limited Liability Companies, with those companies reporting annual gross revenues ranging from $50,000 to $10 million.
Given Rebecca’s broad exposure to many small to mid-size businesses in a variety of industries and coupled with her experience in residential mortgage lending, Rebecca brings a depth of knowledge that will be helpful to SBDC clients seeking to obtain funding and to better understand their financial reporting.
All programs of the UGA SBDC are open to the public on a non-discriminatory basis. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance.
Funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
