John Stowell is a 25-year business and marketing veteran. He worked his way up to senior director of marketing over a 15-year career with Coca-Cola. He also led the marketing for Mitsubishi Electric Cooling and Heating for both commercial and residential applications. and led the consumer side of new products for Zep Inc.
He has launched three brands from scratch, one of which, Gold Peak Iced Tea, now generates over $1Billion in retail sales revenue. John has successfully conducted both B2C and B2B marketing, earned a certificate in Digital Marketing by the American Marketing Association and is Google Adwords certified. John holds an MBA from UNC Chapel Hill and a doctorate of business from Georgia State University. He has a passion for the intersection of entrepreneurship and marketing innovation, making that inflection point the topic of his doctoral thesis.
John has lived in twelve states and traveled to 10 countries, some as a part of his time as a U.S. Army officer, resigning as a captain. John seeks to serve and give back as a UGA SBDC consultant.
