ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

These sessions are designed to equip small business owners with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the public procurement marketplace.

The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center's Multicultural Business Division, in partnership with Decide DeKalb and DeKalb County Government through the Purchasing & Contracting Department, is pleased to announce a new small business and supplier development program. This initiative aims to assist in developing small businesses as they prepare for participation in the DeKalb County Government procurement process and Local Small Business Enterprise certification process. In addition to offering insights on the County's procurement process; including the Local Small Business Enterprise Certification (LSBE) program; this development program will provide training on essential business topics such as human resources, insurance, bonding, working capital, supplier registration, certifications, and financial management.

PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS

Tulu Kaifee

Tulu Kaifee is the Procurement and Finance Specialist at the UGA SBDC. She joined the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center’s Multicultural Business Division in October 2023 as a procurement and finance specialist. Tulu has spent over 20 years in the financial services industry with experience in the consumer, small business and commercial lending segments serving entrepreneurs across Georgia. Tulu’s passion to serve multicultural and underrepresented communities gives her a unique edge incorporating Inclusion, Equity and Belonging strategies to attract and retain talent in a competitive environment.

This program is funded through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration and is supported by federal taxpayer funds.
