Valerie McElveen is the area director for the UGA SBDC at Georgia Southern University. She specializes in assisting clients with accounting and finance strategies, including cost accounting, financial analysis, cash flow management and financial forecasting. Valerie brings a range of experience from working in a large manufacturing environment to working with local businesses. Valerie has a Bachelors of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University and she earned her MBA from Georgia Southern University.
Chase Cowart is a Business Consultant at the UGA SBDC in Savannah. Prior to joining the University of Georgia SBDC in 2023, Chase Cowart worked for a large tertiary care health system. Chase’s experiences within healthcare administration primarily focused on strategic planning and business development with a specific emphasis on the development of ambulatory campuses and services. Chase has a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Georgia, and he earned his MBA from Georgia Southern University.
Becky Brownlee is the Area Director at the UGA SBDC in Savannah. She has over 20 years of experience as a small business owner, in a variety of industries, such as manufacturing, retail, beauty, education, health, agriculture, real estate, and construction. Alongside running her ventures, she holds expertise in finance, hospitality, and insurance. Becky excels in securing funding, navigating commercial real estate intricacies, and managing all aspects from site selection to permitting. Becky has a Bachelors of Industrial Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and she earned her MBA from South University.
