ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

Starting a business from scratch is not the only path to entrepreneurship.

Learn everything you need to know about buying a small business. Business acquisition is an increasingly popular, viable, and sought-after way to become your own boss, or to quickly grow the business you already own.

The 3-hour class will include:

  • Instruction by UGA Small Business Development Center experts
  • Presentation by bankers experienced in financing business acquisitions
  • A facilitated panel discussion of entrepreneurs who recently successfully acquired Middle Georgia businesses
  • Q&A opportunities with all the above

Peter Williams

Peter Williams is a senior business consultant at the UGA SBDC in Macon. With his assistance, Peter's clients have successfully obtained over $100 million in capital from banks and investors. He has presented educational workshops to state and national audiences on small business acquisitions, and on LinkedIn strategy. 

Peter's prior experience includes owning a highly successful merger and acquisition advisory firm, serving as CFO of a venture capital-backed start-up, and as a principal of a private equity investment firm. He holds an MBA from Emory University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
