ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

Are you a small business owner in Georgia looking to GROW your business into federal, state, or local contracting - as a prime or subcontractor?

This session will provide you with information pertaining to contracting assistance programs or socio-economic certifications you can leverage. Public sector examples include WOSB, SDB, 8(a), HUB Zone, VOSB/SDVOSB, and DBE. If your business looking to expand into (major) corporate contracting by leveraging supplier diversity initiatives - with a WBE and/or MBE certification. Or, if you are interested in learning how to do business with GDOT, attend this introductory program to understand the typical procurement process and how you can more efficiently gain a foothold in federal contracting.

PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS

Nora Guzman

Nora Guzman serves as a business advisor for the UGA SBDC in Rome and Gainesville. She has a diverse background with experience in management, human resources, manufacturing, quality assurance and accounting/tax planning. Prior to joining the UGA SBDC, Nora worked for a Fortune 500 manufacturing company, an international software education company, and her own consulting firm. Nora received her undergraduate in Business Administration and MBA in Management from Shorter University.

Patricia Devlin

Patricia Devlin is a Business Consultant with the UGA SBDC in Rome. She brings with her almost 30 years of financial service experience. Before joining the SBDC, Patricia worked in the Dalton Community banking industry. She has extensive knowledge in the areas of commercial and consumer lending, packaging loans and business development. Patricia received her BS degree in organizational management from Belhaven University, certificates from GA Bankers Association, and Dalton State College Continuing Education in private investments.

Bart Njoku-Obi

Bart Njoku-Obi, Business Opportunity Specialist, U.S. Small Business Administration. Bart works with the SBA Georgia District Office in Atlanta. Prior to joining SBA, he garnered 18+ years of experience spanning organizational strategy, business model analysis, operations improvement, teaming, and legal counsel. He has consulted with firms in Silicon Valley CA, Research Triangle Park NC, Atlanta GA, and overseas. Bart is a Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) by NASBITE International, and a Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) by the American Society for Quality. Bart is licensed legal counsel in California, North Carolina, and Georgia.
