Kelley Manufacturing Company is a farm machinery manufacturing company located in Tifton, Georgia.
With 500 dealers domestically, KMC was looking to expand into the into the foreign market and were facing challenges selling their equipment overseas.
Roy Moore, director of sales and marketing at KMC, reached out to the International Trade Center at the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center.
Darrel Hulsey, director of international trade at UGA SBDC, connected Moore with a dealer in Johannesburg, South Africa, which has become one of their largest dealers.
Now, KMC has 7 international dealers and has equipment in 22 different countries.
Moore continues to work with the UGA SBDC not only to expand the business, but to stay updated on international business laws and practices.
The UGA SBDC is funded through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
