ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

This workshop helps participants discover new management styles, communication styles, progressive discipline processes and more to help your employees improve and reduce turnover.

This course is designed for business owners that supervise employees or have employees that supervise other employees. Through this program, participants will help owners and supervisory employees become better managers. Participants will be exposed to management styles, communication styles, social styles, situational awareness, time management, hiring, training and the progressive discipline process to help employees improve and reduce turnover. This class exposes participants to what constitutes as quality customer service and how to implement a strong customer service program.

PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS

Doug Huemme

Doug Huemme is a lifelong entrepreneur, starting his first company while a college student. Since then, he has been involved in numerous startups, both domestically and internationally. He launched the Asia Pacific operations for a business unit of a Fortune 500 company and was vice president of marketing for a wireless networking start-up that raised over 34 million in venture capital funding. Prior to joining the SBDC in 2024 Doug spent over 17 years as a business owner, growing and operating a services company that was ultimately acquired by the world’s largest company in the sector. Doug brings to the SBDC a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities of small business owners with expertise in the service industries.

Todd Anduze

Todd Anduze is the Area Director for the UGA SBDC at the University of West Georgia. He served in the United States Navy during the Desert Storm campaign as a Plane Captain for the A-6 Intruder. After service, he spent 4 years as a warehouse manager for WAWD-EAP and 12 years in management at Lafarge North America. He then transitioned to accounting with Jack F. Gamel, CPA, which equipped him with financial expertise to offer tax services and financial advice. Todd’s diverse background in military, retail, manufacturing, and accounting uniquely positions him to serve and advocate for UGA SBDC clients.
