The APEX Awards are given annually by the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce to businesses and organizations to honor them for their exemplary standards in operation, business development and contribution to DeKalb County.
This year, the SBDC office in DeKalb was honored with the Business Advocacy award. This award is given to a business or organization that has demonstrated a commitment to assisting businesses in DeKalb County.
The SBDC also had clients that were honored. Interprint Communications, a marketing and printing firm based in Decatur, won the APEX Award for Small Business of the Year for companies earning between $1M – $5M annually. Interprint is a client of DeKalb SBDC Area Director Sharon Macaluso’s.
Also honored was CATMEDIA, a creative services, strategic communications, training and program management provider based in Tucker, who won the APEX Award for Small Business of the Year for companies earning between $10M – $20M annually. CATMEDIA’s CEO, Catherine Downey, was also honored by the SBA as the 2016 Small Business Person of the Year in Georgia. CATMEDIA has worked with the UGA SBDC Office of Minority Business Development Director Lloyd Atkins and DeKalb SBDC Area Director Sharon Macaluso.
This great honor shines a bright light on the hard work that the SBDC does around the state as we seek to enhance the economic development of Georgia by growing Georgia’s businesses.
